Revelstoke Mountain Resort
Revelstoke holds the record for the most snowfall in Canada in a single winter at a whopping 80 ft (2,438 cm). It also claims the crown for longest descent in North America. In other words, we’re pulling out the big guns early. Revelstoke Mountain Resort is everything you could want in a ski trip. Think legendary powder, big mountain terrain, and small town vibes.

Sun Peaks Resort
You may not know this, but Sun Peaks is actually Canada’s second largest ski area! If you’re looking for ski resorts in British Columbia, it has to make your list. Spread out over 3 skiable peaks and 13 lifts, you’ll have 4,270 acres to explore. The vibe is very European thanks to a ski-through village lined with shops, cafés, bars and restaurants. Add in that light, dry powder that is famous to the interior of BC and you’re sure to have a great time at Sun Peaks!
Where to stay: There are options in the resort, or Kamloops is located just 55km away and right on Highway 1.
Whistler Blackcomb
North America’s largest ski resort attracts more than 3 million visitors each year and it’s easy to understand why. When it comes to ski resorts in British Columbia, Whistler Blackcomb has something for everyone and then some. From cruisy mid-mountain glades to high alpine couloirs, you’re sure to have an epic time. Outside of the ski area, there’s loads of shops, bars and restaurants to check out, as well as numerous spas, such as the famous Scandinave Nordic bath experience!
Where to stay: Take your pick from more than 10,000 rooms in-resort, and perhaps consider a relaxing night at Sandman Signature Vancouver Airport Hotel & Resort if you’re flying home from YVR.
SilverStar Mountain Resort
SilverStar is one of our fave ski resorts in British Columbia for downhill skiing, of course, but also for cross-country skiing! It’s home to Canada's largest daily groomed cross-country network and offers snowshoeing, fat biking, skating and tubing, too! In fact, there’s so much to see and do at SilverStar that they have an exclusive pass to make sure you don’t miss a thing. The "One Pass" allows unlimited access to all SilverStar has to offer as well as discounts at SilverStar-owned mountain restaurants, enhanced reciprocal deals at other resorts, and early bird lesson vouchers.
Where to stay: Sandman Hotel Vernon is located less than 25km from SilverStar and features recently renovated rooms as well as on-site dining at Denny’s!
Kimberley Alpine Resort
Kimberley Alpine Resort proudly boasts the best combination of sun and light Purcell powder of any other resort in Canada. They also claim the title for largest gladed terrain in North America. Pretty impressive stuff for one of the lesser-known ski resorts in British Columbia! The resort averages 13ft of annual snow so there’s plenty to go around, and at 1,800+ acres there’s more than enough terrain to explore. At Kimberley, you’ll enjoy a laid back, genuine Canadian ski town and resort.
Where to stay: Make Sandman Hotel Cranbrook your basecamp and enjoy a charming setting in the heart of East Kootenay – just 25 minutes’ drive from the resort.
Grouse Mountain
Did you know that Vancouver is home to three ski resorts? Known as “the city’s playground”, Grouse Mountain is our favourite and visitors have been enjoying snow sports there since their first official season in 1926. A Winter Pass provides you with unlimited skiing and snowboarding during the downhill season. In addition, you can also access mountaintop activities including snowshoeing, sleigh rides, ice skating and much more. All accessible within 20 minutes of downtown Vancouver!

Apex Mountain Resort
Apex Mountain Resort is situated on the west side of Okanagan Lake giving it the perfect blend of sunny skies while also receiving lots of the famous Okanagan Champagne powder! Blue River
Now, we know we should be talking about ski resorts in British Columbia but you can consider this a bonus recommendation. While Blue River is not home to a ski resort, it offers cross country and backcountry enthusiasts prime conditions for winter recreation. Blue River sees up to 10 m (32 ft) of the white stuff each year. Add two mountain ranges and 1.2 million acres of pristine wilderness—you’ve got ski conditions you cannot find anywhere else in BC.
Where to stay: When you find yourself touring through the Interior of B.C., find yourself at the Sandman Inn Blue River. This is a spot where hospitality and adventure meet.
